The launch of Gateway Co-operative Credit Union (2017) Limited on January 3, 2017 heralded the beginning of new opportunities for former members of Montego Co-operative Credit Union and Hanover Co-operative credit union, who approved the merger of both organizations.
This merger of equal partners will see over 60,000 members having access to new products and services that were never available to them before the merger. Transactions can now be done at both branches (Montego Bay and Lucea) with the potential to add others. Additionally, persons and co-operatives in the county of Cornwall, not just St. James and Hanover, can become members of the merged entity.
